Bridge Crane

The single-girder bridge crane is the ideal solution for small to medium load capacities. Its compact design requires little space and can be easily integrated into existing halls. It is particularly suitable for in-house material handling and offers an excellent balance between performance and cost-effectiveness – ideal for manufacturing, assembly and warehousing.

Suspension Crane

Suspension cranes are mounted directly to the hall ceiling or steel structures and require no supporting columns of their own. They are particularly suitable for production areas with limited space or when the entire floor area should remain clear. Thanks to flexible travel paths and low overall height, suspension cranes enable efficient material handling – even in confined or narrow halls.

Bridge Crane on Portal

A bridge crane on a portal structure combines the advantages of a classic bridge crane with the flexibility of a free-standing gantry. It requires no existing building structure and can be used both indoors and outdoors. This solution is particularly suitable for large yards, storage areas or production sites where a crane runway cannot be installed – robust, mobile and powerful.

Double-Girder Bridge Crane

The double-girder bridge crane is the ideal solution for heavy loads and wide hall areas. Thanks to its robust double-girder design, it allows the use of larger hoists and ensures excellent running smoothness. It is perfectly suited for heavy industrial applications where reliability, precision and high load capacity are essential.

Discover top performance in crane construction with SHT Suhler Hebezeugtechnik, your partner for high-quality lifting systems and specialized manufacturing solutions. Our bridge cranes are planned and manufactured according to customer requirements as single- or double-girder cranes and are renowned for their reliability and durability in industrial environments.

Our Services

As a crane manufacturer, SHT Suhler Hebezeugtechnik GmbH offers a comprehensive range of services – from initial consultation to planning and production including crane runways, right through to regular maintenance and inspections. Each crane we build covers a load capacity range from 500 kg up to 130 t and is based on a proven modular system that ensures efficient, high-quality production. By working with different manufacturers depending on the load capacity range, we are extremely flexible and broad in our capabilities.

Tailor-Made Solutions

The special feature of our cranes lies in their configuration flexibility. The individual components can be combined as required, so that each crane and each crane runway can be optimally tailored to the specific needs of our customers by our own steel construction team. Whether it is a standard product or a customized special design – we guarantee a solution that meets your requirements.

Advantages of Our Cranes

Our cranes are characterized by a compact, robust design. They require very little maintenance and provide above-average reliability. Particularly noteworthy is the smooth and precise acceleration and braking behavior of our cranes, which ensures maximum safety in all areas of application.

In-House Production According to DIN EN 1090 EXC3

SHT Suhler Hebezeugtechnik specializes in the customized construction of crane bridges and crane runways in compliance with DIN EN 1090, execution class EXC3. This standard ensures that all design and manufacturing processes meet the highest safety and quality standards. By adhering to the EXC3 classification, we guarantee outstanding load capacity and durability of our crane runways – designed for environments with high demands on dynamic load and structural integrity. This commitment to quality standards makes SHT a reliable partner in the field of heavy lifting and transport tasks.

Key Options

Our cranes can be space-saving, with optimized approach dimensions and equipped with various options, such as:

By individually adapting to spatial conditions, our crane systems are distinguished by space-saving installation variants with optimal approach dimensions and lifting heights, which provide the best conditions for additional requirements. This makes it easy to integrate multiple hoists or maintenance walkways.

Our bridge crane systems ensure high reliability and low maintenance costs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Choosing Cranes for Production Halls

A bridge crane is typically a free-standing system that runs on its own rails installed along the side walls of a production hall. This design allows for high load capacity and extensive mobility within the hall. An overhead crane, on the other hand, is mounted directly to the hall’s ceiling structure and is particularly suitable for facilities with limited space or where maximum floor clearance is required.

Several factors must be considered when selecting the right crane type, including maximum load capacity, required span, hall height, type of loads to be lifted, and frequency of crane use. Equally important are the architectural limitations of your facility and any future expansion plans for your production capacities.

The structural design of your production hall is crucial for selecting the crane type. Overhead cranes require a robust ceiling structure that can support the additional weight of the crane and the load. Bridge cranes, on the other hand, require a hall with sufficient side span and a solid foundation structure to safely support the rails.

Bridge cranes offer higher load capacity and greater flexibility in handling large or heavy loads, but they may take up more space in the hall and require special installation. Overhead cranes are usually more cost-effective to install, require less space, and can cover the entire hall, but they do not provide the same load capacity as bridge cranes.

Regardless of the crane type, regular maintenance is essential to ensure safety and functionality. This includes routine inspections, lubrication of moving parts, checking electrical and control systems, and testing load capacity. A well-planned maintenance schedule reduces downtime and increases the crane’s service life.
