Trolley Docking Station – Stand-Alone: Secure fixing for smooth logistics processes

The SHT Trolley Docking Station – Stand-Alone is a robust, floor-anchored solution for safely fixing trolleys during loading and unloading. It uses a mechanical locking mechanism that automatically secures the trolley as soon as it is fully inserted into the station. This reliably prevents unintentional rolling – without additional aids or a second operator.

Thanks to the ergonomic foot pedal, the trolley can be released comfortably and safely. At the same time, a small impulse is applied in the direction of the receiver, overcoming the breakaway force and making handling significantly easier. This not only increases process reliability but also shortens cycle times and reduces physical strain in day-to-day logistics.

Applications of the stand-alone docking station

Beyond classic loading and unloading, the station is ideal for fixing trolleys within automated material flows, e.g., at transfer points to tugger trains or AGVs. It also provides the positional tolerance required for smooth docking in robot-assisted processes.

Safe docking via the trolley frame

Unlike conventional guides, the docking station fixes the trolley specifically via its solid frame – the most stable component. This reliably prevents damage to sensitive parts such as wheels or bearings. The smart design with the frame clearly visible in the operator’s line of sight enables precise, direct insertion.

Automatic locking – intuitive operation

As soon as the trolley reaches the rear stop, the station locks automatically. This intuitive function saves time and prevents misalignment. The release mechanism is actuated via an ergonomically positioned foot pedal that not only unlocks but also provides a slight ejection impulse – pushing the trolley forward to ease the handover.

Greater safety in sensitive areas

The docking station also serves as a physical separation between forklift and pedestrian areas. It supports safe workplace design and effectively protects staff from hazards caused by moving loads or uncontrolled trolley movements.

Expandable for automated applications

The docking station can be easily integrated into automated loading and unloading processes. On request, access interlocks and safety functions can be integrated directly into the station, creating a seamless, standards-compliant workflow – without additional space requirements.

Technical designs and variants

The SHT stand-alone trolley docking station is designed for industrial use. Anchored to the floor, it easily withstands heavy-duty, high-frequency operation. The intuitive mechanism locks the trolley automatically and only releases it after the foot pedal is actuated – including a slight ejection impulse to overcome the breakaway force and simplify handling.
