Fully automatic, low-maintenance, and universally applicable

The OHF (Overheight Frame) is a fully automatic lifting device specifically developed for handling overheight (“out-of-gauge”) containers – but equally suitable for standard containers. It is picked up by the master spreader just like a regular container and locks mechanically via its twistlocks – without any external power supply, electronics, or batteries.

Thanks to its compact and robust design, the OHF can be easily integrated into existing handling processes – without technical modifications to the crane or spreader. Whether in container ports, heavy-load handling, or intermodal terminals: the OHF convinces with maximum operational safety, significantly reduced susceptibility to failure, and efficient workflows that allow the operating personnel to fully focus on transport.

How it works – Simple. Safe. Automatic.

The OHF is picked up directly with the master spreader like a standard container – with no modifications or additional equipment required. After lifting, the frame is positioned on the overheight container. Locking is achieved by unlocking and then re-locking the spreader twistlocks, which securely connect the OHF to the load.

An integrated safety mechanism ensures that the OHF twistlocks can only rotate when all four corners are correctly aligned. Only once all safety pins are engaged does the mechanism activate – supported by clearly visible optical indicators that unambiguously signal the locking status at all times.
